The criminal case was dropped due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. This decision was taken by the Pervomaisky District Court of the capital.
Earlier, his lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the case. The court granted the defense’s request.
Aziz Surakmatov was detained for illegal enrichment. The investigators estimated his assets and the assets of his close relatives at over $50 million. In July, the ex-mayor entered into a plea bargain, compensated the damage to the state in the amount of 150 million soms and was released.
