OSCE / ODIHR: Kyrgyzstanis are tired of elections

Kyrgyzstanis are tired of elections. This is the opinion of the representatives of the OSCE / ODIHR mission, which they voiced today at a press conference.

According to them, the authorities needed to do more to ensure the rights of voters, in particular, do not limit their ability to vote.

As for the technical failure, the mission representatives noted that they would also like to know what was the reason for such a collapse.

Answering the questions, observers stressed that it is necessary to strengthen the striving for democracy and election campaigning in Kyrgyzstan in accordance with its principles.

Elections of deputies of the seventh convocation of the Parliament have ended in Kyrgyzstan. The electoral system was changed in the country, so there will be 90 deputies instead of 120. As a result, 54 deputies of the Parliament are elected according to the proportional system (open lists of candidates of political parties) in the single electoral district, 36 deputies — according to the majority system in single-mandate constituencies.

According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, six parties get into the Parliament. Winners in single-seat constituencies were also announced.
