State debt of Kyrgyzstan reaches $ 700.6 per each citizen

As a result of February, state debt of Kyrgyzstan reached $ 700.6 per each citizen. Over the month, the debt burden has increased by $ 10.8.

According to the Ministry of Finance, as of February 28, 2019, the total amount of state debt (external + internal) of Kyrgyzstan was $ 4,484.15 billion (312,384.99 billion soms), including $ 3,827.53 billion (266,642.34 billion soms) — external, and $ 656.62 million (45,742.66 billion soms) — internal debt.

For a month, the country’s debt increased by $ 2.19 million. Most of all, Kyrgyzstan still owes the Export-Import Bank of China — $ 1,721.88 billion (45 percent of the total foreign debt of the country).

As a result of February 2019, state debt amounted to 51.7 percent of GDP.

As of March 1, 2019, at least 6.4 million people lived in Kyrgyzstan. An average salary in the republic is 15,226 soms. To repay the state debt, each Kyrgyzstani must give 3.2 of his or her salaries.
