Almazbek Atambayev: Be proactive – that’s what is required of national security authorities

"Be proactive - that's what is required of national security authorities," President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said in greeting on the Day of the security officer, the press service of the head of state reported.

"Over the years, national security agencies, as well as the whole country, passed a difficult way of formation. There have been ups and downs. Feats and betrayal. But thanks to those for whom the state security, the protection of national interests and maintaining peace and tranquility in the country has become the meaning of life, we have kept the state, our independence," the President said.

"Today terrorism, religious extremism, illegal migration and drug trafficking became threat to all mankind. Recent events in the world make one think about how fragile the world is and how important is stability. We need to strengthen the border, eliminate the causes of regionalism, nationalism and separatism. It is important to continue the fight against corruption. Anyone who violated the law must be punished. You are obliged to act according to conscience, in order not to be ashamed of the results of the work. Stability and prosperity begins with competent, timely response to emerging issues. You have to be proactive. That is what is needed today from the national security agencies," Almazbek Atambaev emphasizes.

"You have a difficult and not always rewarding work. But for the first years of independence, the government turned its face to the problems of its defenders. We will continue this work, and provide you with full support and assistance. We are all united by one goal - to build a country in which everyone is free, equal and protected," the President said.
