Civil Procedure Code to include improved articles on adoption and guardianship

The new edition of the Civil Procedure Code includes improved norms on adoption and guardianship of children. This was announced today at the parliamentary hearings to discuss the drafts of the Civil Procedure and the Administrative Procedure Codes of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The initiator of the hearings is the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament. Hearings are held in the framework of the judicial reform.

Head of the working group, the judge of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva stated that "the need to reform the civil procedural legislation is caused by a sharp increase in the number of civil cases, the complexity of civil disputes."

"The new edition of the Code, adopted in 2012, states that the cases on adoption of children, placing them under guardianship, as well as their placement in boarding institutions should be considered by the court. In this regard, the new draft Civil Procedure Code is supplemented with new chapters that regulate consideration of cases against the juveniles," Gulbara Kaliyeva said.
