Temir Sariev: Project “Safe City” – more than just video recording of traffic violations

"The Safe City project is more than just a video recording of traffic violations," Prime Minister of the KR Temir Sariev said today at "government day" in the Parliament.

Answering question of the deputy Makhabat Mavlyanova (Respublika - Ata Jurt), the head of government stressed that the project in all countries of the world includes a range of issues where the video recording of violations  is  theonly one aspect. "Our Ministry of Internal Affairs will install cameras on the main highway by its own, but this project is not limited with it," Temir Sariev said.

Makhabat Mavlyanova, in her turn, asked if tenders for the implementation of the project are necessary while the Kyrgyz security forces have claimed the possibility to implement it by themselves. For example, she once again brought the experience of Tajikistan, where the Safe City was launched for a relatively small sum. But Parliament Speaker Asylbek Jeenbekov reminded that the issue of Safe City will be thoroughly discussed next week at one of the meetings of the Chamber. "There, you can ask all the questions, including those about past tenders," the speaker concluded.

The head of the profile committee on law, order and crime control, deputy Janybek Bakchiev (Bir Bol) confirmed 24.kg news agency, that the issue is on the agenda of the committee meeting which will be held on Tuesday, April 5.
