Every third crime in Kyrgyzstan committed in Bishkek

The total number of crimes committed in the capital of Kyrgyzstan amount to 38.4 percent of the total crime rate in the country. The General Directorate of Internal Affairs of Bishkek reported.

As noted, the reason is the active internal migration, social and economic situation, the lack of jobs and employment in remote areas of the country.

Meanwhile, according to the police, crime rate in Bishkek has been steadily decreasing in recent years. In 2016, there have been recorded 9,396 criminal incidents, this is 613 less than in 2015.

At least 1,984 citizens have been brought to criminal liability, 116 of whom were minors.

The police department stressed that extremist crimes pose the greatest danger to society. The most dangerous manifestations of extremism are organized activities of criminal groups.

Deputy Interior Minister, Police Colonel Daniyar Abdykarov noted the need to establish trust relations with the public for joint work on crime prevention.

"It is necessary to pay special attention to every crime committed from disorderly conduct to serious crimes, to organize the work in such a way that every district inspector to bypass yards on serviced areas in order to prevent crimes. Today's society places high demands on the police. Their activities must be understood and supported by the population," he concluded.
