Kyrgyzstan still has low inflationary environment and there won't be a serious increase in prices in the coming months, the Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic Tolkunbek Abdygulov said today at a press conference.

He noted that there is a revival of economic activity in Kyrgyzstan. In January-November, real GDP grew by 3.2 percent. Growth excluding Kumtor enterprises in January-November amounted to 3.3 percent. The growth was registered in all major sectors of the economy.

"According to the forecasts of the National Bank, the inflation rate by the end of 2016 will be close to zero values. Based on current forecasts of the price dynamics, the board of the National Bank considers it expedient to reduce the size of the discount rate. National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic in the near future intends to adhere to the approved monetary policy in the absence of external shocks," Tolkunbek Abdygulov said.

The next meeting of the National Bank on the size of the discount rate will be held on February 27.
