EU to help Kyrgyzstan with water supply

The European Union has allocated over €11 million for projects on modernization of water supply and sewerage systems in the cities of Osh, Kara-Suu and Cholpon-Ata.

In the southern capital the EU grant assistance amounting to €4.75 million will be allocated to upgrading water treatment plants, pumping stations, repair and installation of water meters in some areas of the city, the EU representative office in Bishkek reported.

In Cholpon-Ata at the expense of donors, including the EU, €3.1 million will be modernized the most important objects, including water intakes and water supply, and get a special repair techniques.

EU allocates grants from the Investment Fund of the EU for Central Asia (IFCA).
