First Deputy Mayor of Osh: Elections are held without incidents

"Elections are held without any incidents, but there are queues of voters at some polling stations," the First Deputy Mayor of Osh Zamirbek Askarov informed 24.kg news agency.

Recall, elections to local councils of six towns and cities, including the south capital, take place in Kyrgyzstan today. Such parties as Bir Bol, Kuch-Birimdikte, Onuguu-Progress, Democrat, Respublika - Ata Jurt, Kyrgyzstan, Ata Meken, Ata-Jurt, Mekenim Kyrgyzstan, Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan, Emgek and Aalam - the party of politically uncommitted are running for seats in the local councils.

Commenting on the progress of voting, Zamirbek Askarov noted that all 73 polling stations in the city opened on time - at 8.00 a.m. "One representative from each party, as well as independent observers, who monitor compliance with the law in the electoral process, are working at each polling station," the First Vice Mayor of Osh noted.

He added that the mayor's office of the city engaged the law enforcement officials, as well as the voluntary people's patrol in maintenance of order. "But the situation in Osh is stable, people have a good mood, and despite Sunday morning, voter turnout is high - there are even voters' queues at some polling stations," Zamirbek Askarov said, mentioning that he had already made his choice and voted at one of the stations.
