"Most likely, Bishkek City Council will elect a new mayor of Bishkek in early March," Deputy Chairwoman of the CEC Gulnara Dzhurabayeva said to 24.kg news agency.

According to her, during the week the Central Election Commission should set a date for the election of a new mayor. "We will jointly decide it on the meeting," Gulnara Dzhurabayeva added.

Kubanychbek Kulmatov left his post on February 9. Aigul Ryskulova was appointed the acting mayor of Bishkek.
