Azybek Kozhoshev: Kyrgyzstan is ready to supply Iran with lamb

"Kyrgyzstan is ready to seriously and permanently establish the supply chain of all kinds of finished meat products, especially lamb to Iran," the Minister of Economy Arzybek Kozhoshev said today at Kyrgyzstan - Iran business forum.

"We have already sent 120 tons. It is planned to supply 500 tons so far. Iran highly appreciated the taste and quality of our meat. We have a serious approach to the production of products according to halal standards. In this regard, our approaches are very close, it should be capitalized on long-term basis," Arzybek Kozhoshev stressed.

He added that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development of economic relations with Iran, and said that the trade turnover amounted to $ 12.3 million in January-October 2016 and increased by 82.7 percent compared to 2015.

Chairman of Iran's Chamber of Commerce Gholamhossein Shafei said that the countries have many opportunities for development of cooperation, but Iran and Kyrgyzstan did not use them to the fullest so far. 

Iran is ready to invest in veterinary, agriculture, energy and mining industry of Kyrgyzstan.
