Upon accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Customs Union a number of unemployed in the country can grow twice. The Ministry of Labour, Migration and Youth gives such disappointing forecast.
According to the data, since 2010 the annual growth of economically active population in Kyrgyzstan has averaged 25.6 thousand people. "After joining the Customs Union, the number of unemployed people may increase, on average, twice, leading to increase in unemployment rate to a minimum of 16.9 percent," the department noted and added that the reason is reduction of re-exports of Chinese goods, which will lead to closure of such markets as Dordoi and Kara-Suu.
"Thus, 300,000 working places will be available. One of the risks is migration of the population, both professionals and cheap labor force, which directly affects devastation of land border areas and lack of working-age population in some villages that reduces security of the country," the ministry believes.
It is reported that at the moment the portfolio of credit agencies of the unemployed population amounts to 83.3 million soms.
Note, the head of department Aliyasbek Alymkulov was repeatedly criticized by deputies for lack of work with migrants and inefficient policies on youth employment.
