The 10th jubilee festival of documentary films Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan 2016 is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence. Its director Tolekan Ismailova announced today at a press conference in 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the festival will be held under the slogan "Civil society for freedom and human rights" from October 31 to November 3 in Bishkek. This year, its partner is the Institute of Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The festival program includes the most vivid documentaries, shot from 2011 to 2015. It is presented by authors from 13 countries.
The program includes five national, nine foreign and five films from the CIS countries. The main feature of the films is their relevancy and variety of social problems. They are grouped by categories: human rights and resources, women's rights, human trafficking, child labor, access to information, right to work, right to education and the rights of children.
"Festival is not only showing of documentaries and their discussion. This is summing up the year's results, reports to the public," Tolekan Ismailova said.
The films will be traditionally discussed with authors and leading experts after watching. Admission is free.
