Vladimir Putin awarded Almazbek Atambayev the Order of Alexander Nevsky. The awarding ceremony took place during the bilateral meeting between the two presidents.
It is noted, that Almazbek Atambayev was awarded the Order by decree of the Russian President for his great contribution to the strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic in the spirit of mutual trust and strategic partnership.
At the beginning of the meeting the President of Kyrgyzstan said that he was always happy to see his colleague from Russia. "When I see you, I see not just a colleague or partner, I see my brother. I am grateful to the fate that it is so," he said.
The head of state also noted that his greatest achievement over five years of his presidency was returning of relations with Russia back to normal.
"Our fathers, I think, fought together not in vain, and we have to continue their business, but without the war, Vladimir Vladimirovich," Almazbek Atambayev concluded.

In his turn, Vladimir Putin thanked the President of Kyrgyzstan for hosting CIS jubilee summit at the highest level.
"Thank you for your warm words! I would like to once again congratulate you on your birthday, anniversary. It is very nice to be on such a day with you," Vladimir Putin said.
"The relationship between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation are developing in all directions. We are working in the civil and military areas in difficult conditions. And we cope with the existing conditions. Today we will talk on a whole range of issues," the Russian President said.
He also praised the development of Bishkek.
"The city is changing, it is noticeable, and for the better. I think that this is the result of your work and your team, including the strengthening of the economy," Vladimir Putin concluded.
