Kyrgyzstan to deprive of citizenship convicted of terrorism and extremism

The President signed a law under which those convicted of terrorism and extremism will be deprived of citizenship, the press service of the head of state reported.++

According to it, Almazbek Atambayev signed the Law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of combating terrorism and extremism."

Changes are made to the Code of Administrative Liability, the Criminal Code and the Criminal Executive Code, the laws "On combating terrorism," "On Combating Extremist Activity," "On citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic" and "On state pension social insurance." The amendments toughened the conditions of serving sentence for people convicted of terrorism.

The law enters into force 10 days after its official publication.
