Isfana-Kayragach road, bypassing Tajikistan territory, is being constructed in Lyailyak district of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan.
As the engineer Saib Akhmatov told, the new road will provide independence from the neighboring country and contribute to the development of infrastructure of the area. Transportation artery is built in the framework of the Program of development of road routes in Central Asia.
At the first stage, there will be constructed roads, connecting Batken and Isfana towns with the border crossing points Kyzyl-Bel / Guliston and Kayragach / Madaniat on the border with Tajikistan, with the total length of 56 kilometers.
As the head of Lyailyak district Baymurat Bekmuratov told to 24.kg news agency, at present one has to drive 9 km through the territory of the neighboring country to get from Isfana to some border villages of the district.
"We have an agreement with Tajikistan on mutual use of the roads," the head of the district said.
Currently, the works began in Sulukta - Koltso village area, its length is 11 kilometers. Contractor is a Chinese company.
