The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turganbaev presented the new Patrol Police Service. Presentation of its main department took place on the square in front of the Government House in Bishkek.++
As the head of the Interior Ministry noted, the service will be working around the clock: in three eight-hour shifts. "The crew will consist of three police officers, who will regulate traffic and draw up administrative protocols on violation of traffic rules. Other police officers, members of this service will protect public order."
The Minister noted that each crew is equipped with photo and video recorders that will help to solve not only the controversial issues, but also to exclude corruption. "Only an inspector with video recorder is entitled to draw up administrative protocols on violation of traffic rules," he said.
About 800 police officers in Bishkek, 400- in Chui region, and more than 160 -in Issyk-Kul region will be involved in ensuring road safety and public order. The Patrol Service will operate in all regions of the country from July 1.
The Minister also noted that there will be made certain adjustments in the work taking into account the public opinion. As for the fuel supply, the Interior Minister said that this question remains open. "Those 520 million soms, which the government had to allocate to ensure fuel supply and provide material and technical base of the new service, has not yet been received," Melis Turganbaev said.
