State Border Service: Tajik internal troops entered territory of Kyrgyzstan

Servicemen of Tajik internal troops entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan by 100 meters in ignorance of the state border line, the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Recall, the day before Batken Department of Interior spread information that "Tajik sharpshooters took up positions in the mountains on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic." "About 10-15 Tajik border guards dug pits in the form of trenches and set up reinforcing bars on a hill near Uch-Dobo village, Ak-Sai district, Batken province," Interior Department noted.

The State Border Service denied this information. According to the service, the military men of the neighboring state entered our territory by mistake. "The incident was immediately resolved. The meeting of heads of the Kyrgyz and Tajik border detachments took place. The Tajik side explained the reason of their entry, and withdrew the soldiers, there were no more than five of them. Later on the chief of Batken border detachment met with his Isfara counterpart. They determined the routes for border detachments of both sides. This is not a joint patrol but routes for military men who go along the border line. Such cases, when servicemen enter the territory of neighboring states due to ignorance, sometimes occur if soldiers of power structures of other detachments appear on the border," State Border Service explained.
