Youth unemployment rate reaches 10.1 percent in Kyrgyzstan

Official unemployment rate among young people reaches 10.1 percent, press service of the Labor, Youth and Migration Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic informed.

According to the ministry, the problem of youth unemployment is becoming increasingly important. Youth represents the largest segment in the structure of the labor market, and now it creates a tendency of increased labor force supply.

As it was noted, about 60 percent of the officially registered unemployed young people are jobless for a long time. Many of them are graduates of the higher education institutions - 14 percent. A special agency of the Ministry- Youth Labor Exchange- is engaged in employment of the youth.
