The former head of Manas International Airport JSC Albek Ibraimov was almost unanimously elected the Mayor of Bishkek.
The elections were held today at the Bishkek City Council by secret ballot. At least 43 out of 45 deputies of BCC took part in the voting. The only candidate for the post of mayor of the capital (from the Social Democratic Party faction) won the votes of 42 people. Only one deputy voted against. Ibraimov needed at least 23 votes to gain victory.
Presenting his program, Albek Ibraimov promised to continue the program of his predecessor Kubanychbek Kulmatov, having retained the well-coordinated team of the mayor's office as much as it is possible.
Albek Ibraimov was the head of the Free Economic Zone Bishkek, and Dastan factory, worked as deputy head of the Presidential Administration. In 2012 he was appointed Chairman of the Board, and in 2015 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Manas International Airport JSC.
