Kyrgyzstan can import 20,000 electric vehicles duty-free in the next two years

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has extended the zeroing of customs duties on electric vehicles. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reported.

At the same time, each country has its own quota. For Kyrgyzstan, it is 10,000 electric vehicles in 2024 and 2025. This is almost two times less than the republic requested.

«It is expected that the extension of the application of tariff benefits in combination with other measures aimed at stimulating demand for electric vehicles, their production and the development of a network of charging stations will contribute to a wider distribution of such vehicles, reducing harmful emissions and improving the environmental situation in large cities, development of innovative technologies,» the Ministry of Economy and Commerce noted.
