Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship hospital to be built in Bishkek by 26th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence

Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship hospital will be built in Bishkek by 26th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. The Health Care Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The ministry reminded that on April 1, 2016 there was signed an agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Health Care of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek Mayor's Office and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA). In the framework of the agreement, it is planned to construct a hospital for 140 beds. Approximate completion date - by August 31, 2017.

Not only construction of the hospital, but also equipping with modern diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment in such priority directions for Kyrgyzstan as gastroenterology, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, interventional radiology is planned within the agreement.

Within the project it is also planned to increase the capacity of staff by inviting leading Turkish experts to Kyrgyzstan and sending local specialists to Turkey for training. The hospital will serve not only the residents of the capital, but also people from other regions of the country, helping to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of health care services.
