President of Iran welcomes Kyrgyzstan’s independent policy, closure of Manas Transit Center 

The President of Iran Hassan Rouhani welcomes independent policy of Kyrgyzstan and closure of the Transit Center at Manas. The President himself told journalists on September 5 on the results of his talks with Almazbek Atambayev.

  “Today Kyrgyzstan follows an independent policy. We observed your closure of the U.S. airbase at Manas. It means that we have similar positions and ideas on international and regional issues. And we can develop our relations in this sphere. We also need to cooperate closely in the fight against violence and terrorism", Hassan Rouhani stated.

  “We have good opportunities and potential for development of our relations. Iran has opportunities in the energy sector, and we can provideKyrgyzstan with engineering services for the implementation of such projects. We can also assist in the construction of roads and railways. Taking into account the fact that we also have much in common in culture, we can cooperate in the field of science, new technologies, medicine and pharmaceuticals",  the President of Iran said.
