All border issues with Uzbekistan to be solved in Bishkek in a month

During the working visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev to Uzbekistan, the sides discussed the issue of border delimitation. The head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Sapar Isakov told journalists.

"Up to this date, the sides have passed and demarcated about 70 percent of the total area of ​​our borders. The heads of state gave a direct order to our deputy prime ministers until mid-January to work out all the problems in this sphere. They will thoroughly deal with these issues," Sapar Isakov said.

"Till the middle of January, the parties will hold several rounds of talks. We agreed to intensify our talks exactly on the delimitation and demarcation of our borders," Sapar Isakov said. 

"During the visit, we received from the heads of state clear instruction that we have to work out within a month. We will work day and night to fulfill them," Sapar Isakov said.

Almazbek Atambayev visited Samarkand on December 24. He paid tribute to the first president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, held talks with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
