Term of construction of gas pipeline Kyrgyzstan – China shifts for indefinite period

The term of construction of Kyrgyzstan - China gas pipeline was postponed for an indefinite period, Minister of Economy of the KR Arzybek Kozhoshev said to 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the Chinese party is discussing the final details of the project with Turkmenistan, where the construction will begin, and with Tajikistan. Due to the need to lay a gas pipeline in difficult mountain conditions, the cost is likely to increase.

" Exact date of start of the construction is unknown. In addition, Kyrgyzstan is the last country in Central Asia, where the pipeline will pass. First, it will run from Turkmenistan through the territory of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. As soon as China clarifies the cost of the project, the work will begin," Arzybek Kozhoshev said.

Recall, in 2015, officials claimed that the construction will start in March 2016.
