Ethnic festival “Great Way of Nation” held in Karakol
Ethnic festival "Great Way of Nation" was held in Karakol town on July 16 within the Year of History and Culture. Press service of the plenipotentiary representative of the government in Issyk-Kul region reported.
According to it, a grand event was opened by the pageant, which demonstrated the traditions, customs and way of life of the Kyrgyz people, diversity and rich heritage of the national culture. There was organized a book exhibition, historical documentaries and feature films were screened. "Urkungo 100 zhyl" program included an exhibition of works of art, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of 1916 revolt.
In addition, there was organized Ak-Kalpak festival - workshops on rules of wearing national hats have been carried out for the audience. In the evening, leading ethnic brands of the country have demonstrated the national outfits. The festival was ended by a gala concert, fire show and fireworks.
"Ethnic festival showed that people want to know more about their culture, customs and traditions, their roots, to get in touch with the history of their people. This is the first event of this kind, which we held in Issyk-Kul region. I think other regions will pick up the idea, and we will be able to see all the splendor of our culture," plenipotentiary representative of the government in Issyk-Kul region Askhat Akibaev told.
