Visually impaired singer from Kyrgyzstan takes 1st place at international TV singing contest

Visually impaired singer from Kyrgyzstan Gulym Kasymbaeva took the 1st place at the international TV singing contest Nodo Jiman the World 2016 in Tokyo, having performed with a song in Japanese. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Gulym Kasymbaeva participated in the contest at the invitation of NHK TV and took the first place, having left behind nine participants from the US, Germany, Canada, France, Argentina, Mexico, Armenia and other countries. TV show was broadcast by one of the leading TV channels NHK TV in Japan.

 Success of Gulyum Kasymbaeva came from her deep fascination with Japanese vocal art. She sings in Japanese and Kyrgyz languages. She sings more than ten songs in Japanese. Two of them have been written for her by Japanese authors.
