Finance Ministry to return money spent on trips to competitions to athletes

The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan included in the draft budget funds to pay for travel expenses of athletes. Sportsmen spent this money to participate in various international sports events.

The day before, the deputy of the Parliament, Taalaibek Masabirov, said at a plenary meeting that the Ministry of Finance owed 62 million soms to Kyrgyz athletes. The parliament deputy asked to speed up the process of paying off the debts.

The Ministry of Finance noted that 860,324.2 million soms were planned in the budget 2018 to finance the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports, including 186,012.9 million soms as travel expenses.

«In addition, according to the proposed amendments to the republican budget for 2018, we additionally provided 37 million soms for travel expenses of the athletes. The actual financing of the state agency in 2017 amounted to 709,231 million soms. The amount was increased to 865,435.5 million soms in the proposed draft republican budget for 2019,» the message says.
