Finance Minister reprimanded for understating amount of state debt

The Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan was severe reprimanded because of the underestimation of the volume of the state debt revealed by the Accounts Chamber. This decision was made by the Prime Minister Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

At a meeting of Ata Meken faction, Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Ulugbek Maripov said that the Ministry of Finance made a mistake when calculating the amount of state debt. As a result, it decreased by 637 million soms. Today, at the government meeting, the reports of the Accounts Chamber on the execution of the budgets of ministries and departments were considered along with recommendations of the Accounts Chamber.

«There are many recommendations for each ministry. But I want to say to the Minister of Finance: shame on you. 637 million soms have gone somewhere. Already the deputies and the president raise this issue. We seriously punish for 6,000, and here is such a sum. We do not even have this amount on our balance sheet. Therefore, I decided to reprimand the Minister of Finance Adylbek Kasymaliev and severely reprimand the deputy head of the Ministry of Finance Mirlan Baigonchokov because he was responsible for this issue. You should take measures against the rest of the ministry’s employees who made the mistake,» Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev summed up.
