One of the districts of Bishkek is proposed to be named in honor of Chingiz Aitmatov. Ekmat Baibakpaev made the proposal today at the meeting of the Parliament.
According to him, the 90th anniversary of the national writer of the Kyrgyz Republic is celebrated around the world.
«All districts in Bishkek were named in the Soviet era. One of them must be renamed. It is often said that this requires a lot of money. But it is not about money. The name of the great Kyrgyz writer should be perpetuated,» said Ekmat Baibakpaev.
He offered the deputies of the Bishkek City Council to make a proposal.
