Kyrgyzstan handed over the chairmanship of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to Russia. The Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Asylbek Kozhobekov stated at the meeting of RATS in Bishkek.
According to him, representatives of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia and Pakistan participated in the meeting of RATS.
«The implementation of previously adopted decisions of the Council of RATS SCO, joint measures to counter the challenges and threats emanating from extremist movements was considered. An agreement was reached on strengthening cooperation in protecting critical facilities and places of mass stay of people, monitoring of threats of a terrorist nature in the global information space and ensuring cybersecurity,» said Asylbek Kozhobekov.
