Kyrgyz artists present performance based on Chingiz Aitmatov’s work in Tashkent

Naryn Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater named after Muratbek Ryskulov presented a play based on the work of Chingiz Aitmatov in Tashkent. The playwright Sultan Raev told journalists.

According to him, for two days, actors from Kyrgyzstan will stage the play Man (Zombies) based on his script for the Uzbek audience on the stage of the State Musical Theater named after Mukumi. The performance was created based on the book by Chingiz Aitmatov The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years.

«For the past 20 years, this is the first time when our actors play on the Uzbek stage. Our performance created a furor,» Sultan Raev told after the first night of the performance.

Note, Uzbekistan actively celebrates the 90th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov. At least 20 out of 32 theaters in Uzbekistan have already staged plays based on the writer’s works.

Last year, the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan were solemnly held in Bishkek; the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan will be held on October 24-28, 2018 in Tashkent and Samarkand.
