Safe city project was launched in test mode in Balykchy town. Town governor Almaz Mambetov informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the project was divided into two directions — recording of traffic rules violations and monitoring of the situation in the town. «Two installations were purchased on the 1st direction. Stationary one was installed at the entrance to Balykchy. The second — mobile — will run around the city. We will send letters to violators with a warning,» noted Almaz Mambetov.
He added that 84 cameras were installed in Balykchy to monitor the situation in the town. More than 15 million soms have been spent. A consortium of companies Net System and Grand PRO won the tender.
The press service of Balykchy administration added that the security cameras helped to identify the perpetrators of traffic accidents. Merging of the State Registration Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs databases is currently being completed.
Balykchy is still the only town in Kyrgyzstan where Safe City project was launched.
