Import of goods from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan into Orenburg Oblast banned

More than 400 tons of products from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan were detained in Orenburg Oblast of Russia over a week. Rosselkhoznadzor website says.

At least 22 attempts of illegal import of 429.4 tons of quarantineable products of high phytosanitary risk were suppressed on the Russian-Kazakhstan section of the state border.

Thus, 208.8 tons of grapes, fresh bell pepper, turnips, radish, zucchini and cucumbers from Kazakhstan, 81.1 tons of Kyrgyz bell pepper and 60 tons of Uzbek persimmon were imported with invalid phytosanitary certificates (incompletely drawn up and containing inaccurate information.)

About 39.5 tons of fresh bell pepper and melons were imported without a phytosanitary certificate confirming the quality, safety and country of origin. At least 20 tons of Kazakh melons and 20 tons of Uzbek peanuts were imported with phytosanitary certificates, the information in which did not correspond to the information in transportation (shipping) documents.

All goods were returned to the senders in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
