Russia bans import of 40 tons of products from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan for week

In the first week of October 2018, Rosselkhoznadzor banned import of 40,438 tons of products from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to Russia. Website of the organization says.

At least 8 batches of products of high phytosanitary risk were detained in Novosibirsk Oblast, which were transported by road for sale in the markets of Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Yakutsk.

Inspectors of Rosselkhoznadzor found out that 20 tons of Kazakhstan grapes, 17,968 tons of Kyrgyz plums and one ton of pecans, 500 kilograms of Chinese macadamia nuts, 200 kilograms of Iranian dates and pistachios were transported with violations in the marking of cargo.

«It was attempted to import 150 kilograms of apples from Kyrgyzstan, 100 kilograms of Chinese macadamia nuts and 60 kilograms of Uzbek raisins without a phytosanitary certificate confirming the safety of the products. Another batch of Chinese macadamia nuts in the amount of 460 kilograms had no copy of a phytosanitary certificate of the country of origin,» the message says.

Import of all products into the territory of Russia was banned. They were returned to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
