The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan sent a letter to the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety of Kyrgyzstan because of the ban on the import of poultry products. Inform-Bureau reported.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan considers the restrictions imposed by Kyrgyzstan on the import of poultry meat and eggs from Almaty and North Kazakhstan regions as illegal.
According to it, the diseases of birds have not been registered in Almaty region for the last 10 years. The quarantine for Newcastle disease, announced in Aiyrtau district of North Kazakhstan region, was lifted on September 19.
Kyrgyzstan imposed the restriction to clarify the true epizootic situation on highly pathogenic avian influenza and Newcastle disease. Import of live birds, hatching eggs, zoo and circus animals from Almaty and North Kazakhstan regions was forbidden. The ban also applies to poultry meat, egg powder, egg mixture, albumin and other food products of egg processing. In addition, import of feed and additives for birds is also banned.
