Kyrgyzstan bans import of poultry meat, eggs from Kazakhstan

Kyrgyzstan introduced a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat and eggs from Almaty and North Kazakhstan regions of Kazakhstan. The document was issued the day before by the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The restriction has been introduced to ascertain the true epizootic situation on the highly pathogenic avian influenza and Newcastle disease. It is prohibited to import live poultry, hatching eggs, zoo and circus animals from Almaty and North Kazakhstan regions.

The ban also includes poultry meat, egg powder, egg mixture, albumin and other food products of processing of eggs. Import of feed and additives for birds is also banned.
