From 2013 to 2017, sales in Kyrgyzstan’s retail chains increased 1.6 times up to 200 billion soms. Report of the National Statistical Committee says.
The share of sales in retail chains in the structure of retail trade increased from 49 percent in 2013 to 56 percent in 2017. Along with the expansion of retail stores network, markets continue to operate.
At least 355 garment, mixed and food markets operated in Kyrgyzstan as of January 1, 2018.
Sales in the markets in 2017 amounted to 156 billion soms. Compared with 2013, the figure increased 1.2 times. But the share of sales in the markets in the structure of retail trade has decreased from 51 percent to 44 percent in the last five years.
