The State Commission on Religious Affairs has been refusing to comply with the decision of the inter-district court of Bishkek city, which recognized tengrism as a religious organization, for two years. Representative of the organization Kubanychbek Tezekbayev told at a press conference.
«We submitted the first application for registration in 2012. Then they denied it. On March 14, 2016, the Bishkek inter-district court made a decision: we are a religious movement. But the state commission advises us to work as a foundation. According to them, the recognition of us as a religion can provoke an inter-religious conflict,» said Kubanychbek Tezekbayev.
Representatives of the movement are sure that the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov understands the essence of tengrism and will support them.
«All these years we have been waiting patiently and did not hold rallies. In order to preserve our spiritual wealth, we must carry out the necessary work,» said Kubanychbek Tezekbayev.
