Foreign Affairs Minister tells how Kyrgyzstan counteracts terrorism

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev told today at a meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly how Kyrgyzstan was countering terrorism.

According to him, return of the militants of terrorist organizations to their countries of origin is of particular concern. A threat to Central Asia is proximity to countries where armed terrorist organizations are stationed. The OSCE should return to the discussion of Afghan issues.

The Foreign Affairs Minister noted that it was more effective to fight terrorism and extremism, trafficking in arms, drugs and people by joint efforts.

«Only together it is possible to counter the threat of international terrorism. The UN should play a special role in this. Kyrgyzstan has approved a program to counter terrorism at the national level. We expect support from partners,» Erlan Abdyldaev said.
