Civil activist Mavlyan Askarbekov was released from penalty. The decision was made by the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan. Blogger Edil Baisalov told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, his penalty was annulled due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

In July, the Bishkek City Court ruled on the appeal against the sentence of the Pervomaisky District Court within a criminal case against Mavlyan Askarbekov. He was accused of public calls for violent seizure of power. Mavlyan Askarbekov was found guilty. However, the city court revoked the decision of the district court on payment of a fine in the amount of 50,000 soms and written undertaking not to leave the city.

The defendant found this verdict illegal and appealed the decision of the city court in the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic.
