Term of Sapar Isakov’s detention extended until December 5

The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek considered extension of preventive measure to the former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov.

Investigators of the State Committee for National Security asked to extend term of detention of the former head of the Cabinet. Lawyers of the accused asked not to grant motion of the investigation.

Approximately 60 people came to the court building to support Sapar Isakov. There were relatives and former colleagues among them.

The judge extended the term of detention until December 5.

Recall, the former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov is in custody on charges of corruption within the criminal case on modernization of Bishkek HPP. At least four criminal cases were opened and seven former top managers of the power industry were arrested on the breakdown and modernization of Bishkek HPP, including the former head of the Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev and the former general director of Electric Stations Salaydin Avazov.
