Situation in the labor sphere of Kyrgyzstan is difficult, and it’s not just about the number of jobs, but, above all, their quality. The National Coordinator of the International Labor Organization Bolot Orokov said this at a press conference on the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
«There are many vacancies in Kyrgyzstan, but citizens do not want to fill them,» he said.
According to him, there are several factors that affect the quality of work. «Of course, this is salary. Its size depends on the total labor productivity in the country. Many jobs in Kyrgyzstan are considered as low-productivity and, therefore, low-income. The second factor is the safety of labor for human health and life. The third is a strong system of social protection, in order in case of loss of work a person could count on it,» Bolot Orokov said.
Both the quantity and quality of jobs are the main reasons for the outflow of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in search of more decent work abroad.
According to him, one of the main tasks of the development strategy of Kyrgyzstan until 2040 is the creation of jobs. «This shows that the government understands the problems and prioritizes creation of decent jobs,» he said.
