Kyrgyzstan has a problem with access of the population to food. Country Director of the UN World Food Program in Kyrgyzstan Andrea Bagnoli told at a press conference.
He noted that the world produces enough food, but more than 800 million people have been suffering from hunger.
«There is no serious problem with hunger in Kyrgyzstan, but we are working with the government to reduce poverty in order 1.5 million Kyrgyzstanis living below the poverty line to have access to healthy nutrition,» he said.
The problem is not connected with the lack of products, but with their availability.
«We are making efforts to make food products and their variety available not only for city residents, but for every citizen who lives even in a remote village,» he said.
