The American currency continues to fluctuate. Over the weekend, the U.S. dollar fell in price by 20 tyiyn in Kyrgyzstan.
Today, the capital’s exchange offices and commercial banks buy it for 68.7-69 soms, and sell — for 69.2-69.3 soms. The nominal rate of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic is 69,2773 soms (a drop of 0.04 percent for a day).
Fluctuations in the foreign exchange market have been observed since mid-August. Then the dollar rose sharply and almost reached the level of 70 soms. However, the National Bank intervened and the situation somehow stabilized. It repeated in September, when after a sharp jump in the dollar exchange rate, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan again sold dollars in the foreign exchange market. In total, the bank has sold $38.7 million for the last 2 months.
