China, Turkey, Russia most often open enterprises in Kyrgyzstan

At least 1,189 enterprises in Kyrgyzstan are wholly owned by foreigners. At the same time, most of the companies were opened by representatives of China, Turkey and Russia. Report of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan says.

According to it, there were 3,107 enterprises with foreign investments in 2017, including 57.3 percent of them — with the full participation of foreign capital. Compared to 2013, the number of enterprises with foreign investment increased by 12.3 percent.

The main partners (59 percent) were the countries outside the CIS (1,833 companies). At the same time, joint ventures with Russia (22.1 percent), China (18.5 percent), Kazakhstan (14 percent) and Turkey (13.5 percent) accounted for the majority of enterprises in 2017.

At least 1,189 enterprises (64.9%) are fully owned by the countries outside CIS. China invested funds in 397 enterprises, Turkey — in 307, Russia — 291, Kazakhstan — 204, Korea −99 and Iran — 38.

«The largest number of enterprises with foreign investments is concentrated in the wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair (34.2 percent), manufacturing (15 percent), professional, scientific and technical activities (13 percent), construction (8.2 percent), as well as in information and communication organizations (4.1 percent). The largest number of enterprises (83 percent) worked in Bishkek, 8.6 percent — in Chui region,» the report says.
