Prime Minister comments on scandal with Deputy Minister of Social Development

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan commented on the incident with the ex-Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Zuurakan Kadenova. Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev voiced his opinion the day before at a government meeting.

According to him, if people can not be a role model, they should not come to the civil service. As an example, he cited the situation at the airport in Seoul and subsequent events.

«Everyone saw what was happening. The ambassador made statements several times, but there was no reaction from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Is this correct or not? We joined the Open Government program. This means that our work should be open and transparent. If we can not stand it, we must quit the civil service. Wherever we are — on business trips or at solemn events — we should be role models,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

«Unfortunately, there are such employees among us, who spoil everything. We are rightly criticized. If we do not want criticism, then we must behave accordingly. There must be ethics of behavior. In some states, people not only leave their post because of incorrectly said word, but they can also shoot themselves. In Japan, a minister appeared drunk and then shot himself because of this. And what do we have? All this is done, and then the media criticize. We must endure, but if we do not want to endure, we must change our behavior. There may be shortcomings in work, but the behavior should be an example for everybody,» head of the Cabinet summed up.
