Sooronbai Jeenbekov raises issue of sanctions in New York

The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov spoke at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. The Information Policy Department of the president spread the text of his speech.

According to Sooronbai Jeenbekov, the global political, economic and environmental situation is changing rapidly. The tendency of regionalism in world politics is growing. Price increases, lack of liquidity and war of sanctions in the economy continue. The threat of terrorism and extremism spread to all countries.

Despite the origin of these problems, they concern everyone, especially small countries with open economies. These processes turned out to be sensitive for Kyrgyzstan.

He added that cooperation and comprehensive dialogue were considered by the Kyrgyz side as the only and having no alternative way solution of the existing problems.

«We see a special role and a new mission of such regional associations as CIS, SCO, CSTO and EEU. Overcoming the policy of isolation and development of the vector of cooperation and partnership have become topical today. No state is immune from threats related to terrorism and extremism.

The international community must work together more actively to combat this evil and such phenomena as drug trafficking, trafficking in human beings and weapons, money laundering and financing of terrorism,» said Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

In the framework of the opening of the General Debate of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Chairwoman of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, the President of the United States Donald Trump and other world leaders made their speeches.

The theme of the debate is «Making the United Nations relevant to all people: global leadership and shared responsibilities for peaceful, equitable and sustainable societies.»
