The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev submitted a proposal to dismiss the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Kylychbek Sultan. The Presidential Administration informed 24.kg news agency.
A reason for proposal by the Foreign Affairs Minister was not reported.
Yesterday, Kylychbek Sultan told at a press conference about corruption in the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The diplomat noted that he tried to get an appointment with Sooronbai Jeenbekov several times to report him personally, but he did not receive a response from the presidential administration. Later, he appealed to the country’s leader through the press and social networking sites, but got no answer.
«When I headed the Embassy in Malaysia, I learned a lot about corruption facts and reported to management. Constitutional reform began at this time, and I resigned. But at the end of 2016, I was invited by Sapar Isakov to help with disclosure of corruption in the Embassy in Malaysia, and I returned to Kuala Lumpur. Then we detected a lot of illegal actions, the employees of the State Committee for National Security came to Malaysia and conducted a check, but they did not initiate a case. Then I reported this to the chairman of SCNS, but he resigned in a month. And the people involved in corruption still head the department and continue to work in the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The president said that all cases, especially involving corruption, will be brought to an end. I just want to ensure that some people do not defame the honor of Kyrgyz diplomats,» Kylychbek Sultan said.
It is not ruled out that the Ambassador Kylychbek Sultan, who openly criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be dismissed from his post with a wording «inconsistency of his activities with the decisions and policies carried out by the political leadership.»
Recall, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic is on a working visit to the United States now. It is still unknown what decision will Sooronbai Jeenbekov make.
